Forward Progress: A Good Sign of California Business Recovery

Executive Insights

If moving forward is sign that business recovery is happening in California, then here at Accent, we’re thankful to see some of those signs firsthand. We’ve signed on new IT support clients and have received the go-ahead for IT improvement projects for several current clients.

Many of the new companies that we’ve onboarded told us that they’ve been waiting since the 1st Quarter of last year to move forward with much needed changes. Hopefully, for those of you that are still struggling, signs of recovery are headed your way.

We’re moving forward with improvements here at Accent too. We’ve pulled the trigger on several internal technical projects that will make us more secure, provide better documentation of our client’s environments, and increase our competitive advantage.

Accent Receives New Cyber Security Certification

One such project is CMMC certification to provide consulting and assessments for government contractors and their suppliers. If you’re in the government supply chain, you’ve probably heard about NIST and CMMC.

If you haven’t heard of NIST and CMMC, these are methods to verify compliance with regulations for how “controlled unclassified information” is handled. The big deal is that previously, companies could self-assess their adherence to cybersecurity standards. Now, third-party verification is required.

As you can imagine, this has caused quite a scramble as companies try to figure out what they need to do. The DoD will not be doing business with companies that don’t have CMMC verification.

We are one of the very few IT companies in California to be certified to provide CMMC consulting and implementation. The certification shows that we’re more than ready to solve what’s becoming a huge problem for companies that work with the DoD. I am very proud of our team for getting this done.

Continuous Improvement to Live Out Our Purpose

Our purpose here at Accent is to build a growing, profitable company that clients and employees are proud to be a part of, and creates opportunity for those associated with us.

To support that purpose, we have been working hard on improving the IT support processes that allow us to serve our clients and employees better than ever before.

Our team leaders and supervisors have been meeting once per week for the last seven weeks to strategize on what we can do to improve our clients' experience. This exercise has opened the lines of internal communication and put the challenge to live out our mission in everyone’s lap. We’re seeing forward progress and it’s showing up as busted bottlenecks and new efficiencies that help our clients get a fast, friendly, frustration-free IT experience.

To your success in 2021!
